MOLES is an acronym for Malicious Off-chip Leakage Enabled by Side-channels. A MOLES circuit inserted into an integrated circuit (IC) allows an attacker to leak secret information, encryption keys, using side channels, current. The MOLES circuit operates below the noise level of the IC in order to evade detection.
